Char grew up on a dairy farm outside of Gaylord, Minnesota with 3 younger siblings. Their life always included lots of church music! At Gustavus Char graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and sang in the Concert Choir all 4 years.
She and her husband Howard moved to Jordan in 1971 to teach, and helped to organize Hope Lutheran a couple of years later. Char has been leading the Worship Choir since 1991, and has led children’s music almost since Hope’s beginning. In her spare time Char gardens, knits, stitches, reads, and cheers for her 4 teenage grandchildren at games, concerts, and plays.
