Kids of the Kingdom-Sunday School (4 years – grade 4)

Registration Fee: A registration fee of $25 per child ($60 family maximum) is being requested.  This is to offset expenses for curriculum, materials, and fellowship/service events.  This fee will be waived for any parent/guardian who volunteers to be a KOK teacher.  Scholarships are also available!  Please reach out to Angie @ 952-492-2099 in the office for more information.

– KOK Schedule:

  • Sundays from 10:15-11:00 (Note this is a time change from last year)
  • 4th grade Keeping the Promise Retreat – October 6th (during KOK time)
  • Come to 9 a.m. service on October 13th for recognition and celebration.
  • 3rd grade Keeping the Promise Retreat – November 3rd (during KOK time)
  • Come to 9 a.m. service on November 10th for recognition and celebration.
  • 1st and 2nd grade Keeping the Promise Retreats will be held sometime in January-March.  Dates will be shared soon.

– Drop-off/Pick-up:

  • Parents/Guardians are asked to walk their children down to the Education Area and wait with their child until the beginning of KOK.  We want to keep all children safe and supervised!
  • Parents/Guardians must pick up their children from the Education Area.  Children will not be released to meet parents in other parts of the church or in the parking lot.

– Volunteer Opportunities:  KOK is not possible without the faithful work of many!  There are still opportunities to teach classes available at all age levels.  Please take a moment to prayerfully consider if you can share your gifts and time with the children of Hope Lutheran this year.  It would be amazing if four more people could volunteer to help teach.

  • Time:  KOK will be 45 minutes this year, held from 10:15-11:00.
  • Structure: A typical Sunday involves 15 minutes of opening music, a 15 minute small group session in an age-specific classroom, and a 15 minute large group fellowship time.
  • Teaching:  ALL lessons and materials are prepared for you!  They will be simple and sweet, always connecting kids to a Big Idea related to God, Jesus, and Faith.  You do not need to be an expert on the Bible!  We are all lifelong learners and it is important for kids to know we as adults continue to grow in our faith.
  • Flexibility:  You do not need to be at KOK every Sunday.  Most grade levels have two teachers who alternate weeks.  Subs are also available.  I will work with you to make teaching fit your schedule!

– Back to School Blessing: Sunday September 8th at 9 a.m. service

– All children, teachers, and school staff will be invited forward for a special blessing as a new school year begins!

Please reach out with any questions.  I am looking forward to a fun and faith-filled year!
