Veteran’s Day

Today is Veterans Day. We remember and give thanks for the service and personal sacrifice of all who have served our nation in times of peace and war.  We pray for those currently serving in the military ,that they will know they are remembered, valued and cared for.

November 3rd Concrete Consolation(aka driveway communion)

Concrete Consolation* (aka communion in your driveway) What is it:  An intimate, brief (about 15 minutes) chance to gather for communion and a prayer. When:  Tuesday, November 3rd, 5:15 p.m. Where:  Angie Newton’s, 225 Firewatch Dr., Jordan Bundle up and bring a lawn chair to set up at a social distance and a mask to wear. **This will be the last Driveway Communion for the season.**

3rd Grade Bible Retreat

October 31 from 9-11 a.m. is our 3rd Grade Bible Retreat This will be an in-person retreat held in our Fellowship Hall with the appropriate protocol's in place(masks, social distancing, sanitizer stations, etc.) Our 3rd graders, accompanied by a parent, will explore how they can use their Bibles to read about the stories of our faith and the words of our Father. On Sunday, November 1, these youngsters will be recognized at worship.

Families Moving Forward & Prairie Pointe

In this time of housing insecurity it is more important than ever to support Families Moving Forward ( Scott County's only emergency family shelter program organized by Beacon) and Prairie Pointe (Beacon's newest family supportive housing development to be built in Shakopee.) Your Beacon Leadership Team is helping to launch an email campaign to let Scott and Carver County Commissioners know that we support continued funding for Families Moving Forward and the additional funding investment in Prairie Pointe. Celebrating Communion

Sunday, October 18th, we will be celebrating Communion during our on-line service. Prepare for Communion in your own home by gathering bread & wine/juice and have it ready for the service.

14th Year of Operation Christmas Child

There will be a Shoe Box packing event during the Kids of the Kingdom Family Event on Sunday, November 15th. Keep this event in mind while you’re doing your shopping. Some of the items we need are listed below. Items need to be new. Donations can be dropped at church. No time to shop?! Cash donations are always welcome or you can give on-line (specify Operation Christmas Child) Small toys (yo-yo's, playing cards, dice, cars, dolls, etc.) Washcloths Bars of soap Pens and pencils Small pads of paper (small legal pads work great) Socks - both boys and girls or various sizes
