ELCA Good Gifts
Members of Hope Lutheran are invited to give to others this holiday season in the following ways:
* Our ELCA Good Gifts tree will be set up in the sanctuary, and we encourage families to make donations to this important outreach. Families who feel comfortable can make a visit to the sanctuary during regular church hours, collect an ornament, write a check in the amount of their donation, and drop it off in the office. Families may also donate remotely by viewing the pictures of the ELCA Good Gifts ornaments on the Hope Lutheran Church Facebook page, choosing an animal or donation, writing their check, and mailing their donation to the Hope ...
Jordan Family Outreach
Are you looking for a different way to give this Christmas? How about a donation to Jordan Family Outreach?
Donations will be used to provide local families with gift cards to purchase holiday gifts, food and gas. Make checks payable to Jordan Family Outreach and drop off at Hometown Bank.
Milk Jug Luminaries
Save your gallon milk jugs to make luminaries for our Christmas Eve Service!
The service will be at 4:30 p.pm. Come early for Christmas Carols!
Clean out milk jug with soapy water.
Leaving the handle, cut out the top section of the jug.
Decorate with a star, tree, angel or leave plain.
Bring to church on Christmas Eve.
Hope will have sand and candles to fill the luminaries.
Thanksgiving Service
Join us on Facebook, Wednesday, November 25 at 7 p.m. for a Thanksgiving Service presented by the Minnesota Conference of the United Church of Christ with guest appearances by Hope Lutheran musicians!
Veteran’s Day
Today is Veterans Day.
We remember and give thanks for the service and personal sacrifice of all who have served our nation in times of peace and war. We pray for those currently serving in the military ,that they will know they are remembered, valued and cared for.
November 3rd Concrete Consolation(aka driveway communion)
Concrete Consolation* (aka communion in your driveway)
What is it: An intimate, brief (about 15 minutes) chance to gather for communion and a prayer.
When: Tuesday, November 3rd, 5:15 p.m.
Where: Angie Newton’s, 225 Firewatch Dr., Jordan
Bundle up and bring a lawn chair to set up at a social distance and a mask to wear.
**This will be the last Driveway Communion for the season.**
3rd Grade Bible Retreat
October 31 from 9-11 a.m. is our 3rd Grade Bible Retreat
This will be an in-person retreat held in our Fellowship Hall with the appropriate protocol's in place(masks, social distancing, sanitizer stations, etc.) Our 3rd graders, accompanied by a parent, will explore how they can use their Bibles to read about the stories of our faith and the words of our Father.
On Sunday, November 1, these youngsters will be recognized at worship.
