Advent Candlelight Prayer Service

Join us December 15 at 6:45 pm for our annual Advent Healing and Prayer Service.  This is a wonderful service full of prayer and music. We will light candles for those we are praying for and anoint our loved ones. *Anointing will be a little different this year. Plans are still a work in progress.

1st Sunday of Advent ~ Hope

The 1st Sunday of Advent is the start of the liturgical year and the start of the season of Advent.  The 1st candle is the Hope Candle which represents the expectation felt in anticipation of the coming Messiah. Is is sometimes called the Prophecy Candle in remembrance of the prophets, especially Isaiah, who foretold the birth of Christ.

Decorate Hope for Christmas

Decorate Hope for Christmas, November 28th after Worship!  Bring your family and help us decorate the church for Christmas! Lots of things to do ~ trim a tree, hang some decorations or set up the nativity scene. We have all sorts of "jobs" to do, and if we have enough people on hand it won't take long at all. Community Thanksgiving Service

Tuesday, November 23rd at 7:00 pm Come and celebrate Thanksgiving with your neighbors and friends with a meaningful service full of worship and praise.  If you are interested in being involved with the service in any way, please contact Pastor Steve Thompson at pastor@hope-jordan.org    

4th Grade Apostles Creed Retreat

Saturday, November 13th 9-11 am Parents and their children will spend the morning learning about the Apostles Creed; what it means, how it applies to your daily life and begin to memorize it. You will also share a snack together and, of course, enjoy some fun music. If you have a 4th grader but did not receive the email  invitation, please contact the church office at 492-2099.

November 6th & 7th

What a busy weekend!! November 6th is our Annual Craft & Vendor Fair, back after a year off! (9-3 pm.) Our 3rd graders will have their 3rd Grade Family Promise Bible Retreat where they will learn what the Bible is and how to look things up. They will then be presented with their very own Bible. (9-11 am) November 7th is Operation Christmas Child where Kids of the Kingdom will pack 100 boxes to be shipped where they will bring a smile to needy children in other parts of the world. Event is from 10:15 to 11:15 am.  

Communion on Sunday’s

Dear members and friends of Hope, The Safe Worship Committee has noticed that communion in the narthex is not achieving the intended result of keeping participants reasonably distanced in order to avoid virus transmission. Therefore, they have recommended that we distribute communion at the front of the sanctuary.  We will continue to do communion at the end of the service so that the flow of the congregation can be up the center aisle and then right out by the side aisles. Unfortunately, we have members getting sick with covid even though vaccinated. At least one, who was asymptomatic, was present at worship last Sunday. We are concerned for ...

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child is a favorite Kids of the Kingdom annual event.  We are hoping to keep it going strong for our 15th year in a row!  We are planning a shoe box packing event for Sunday, November 7th during the normal KOK time.  Keep this event in mind while you’re doing your shopping.  Some of the items we need are listed below.  Items need to be new.  Donations can be dropped at church.  No time to shop?!  Cash donations are always welcome!   Small toys (yo-yos, playing cards, dice, cars, dolls, etc.)  Pens and pencils Markers, crayons, colored pencils Small pads of paper (small legal pads work great) Bars ...

October 6th Concrete Consolation

Please join us for *Concrete Consolation this week...here at Hope Lutheran! Concrete Consolation, or Driveway Communion, starts at 5:15 pm and lasts about a half an hour. It is an intimate, brief chance to gather for communion and prayer. Bring a lawn chair to set up at a social distance, and a mask if that makes you more comfortable. *Consolation – “someone or something that comforts or consoles.” Whether your driveway is asphalt or concrete – we will gather to stand on the solid promise that God’s grace is always present.
