Families Moving Forward

June 8, 2023

Dear friends,

As we shared over the past several months, the Families Moving Forward shelter program serving Scott and Carver County families will transition to its new provider, HHF Abundance, based in Chaska.

Starting July 1, HHF Abundance, led by Martha Brannon, will continue our tradition of supporting families through excellent case management and the hospitality of faith communities.

As a supporter of Families Moving Forward –whether as a donor, a congregational host, a volunteer, or clergy that’s part of the Hennepin network or the Scott and Carver network – we invite you to join us for a special evening as we recognize this transition.

Please join us for refreshments as we show appreciation to FMF hosts and staff and celebrate FMF’s future. This evening represents an outpouring of gratitude for all of you who make this program possible!

We hope you will share this invitation with your networks, including congregation newsletters.

What is Families Moving Forward? This program offers families experiencing homelessness hospitality, emergency shelter and a path to home with support for stability. Volunteers from congregations create shelter space at their congregation sites. In addition to a safe place to sleep and a warm meal, congregational volunteers share kindness and compassion with families experiencing homelessness. Completing the circle of support, Families Moving Forward professional staff work closely with each family to address their unique barriers to stability so they may leave the shelter program for permanent housing.
